TUNIS, May 15 (Xinhua) -- A police officer escaped from a knife attack Tuesday in Tunis, the capital city of Tunisia, an witness confirmed to Xinhua.
Shouting "hatred for Israel," a bearded man tried to kill an police officer who was guarding the main Jewish synagogue "Great Synagogue" in the capital.
The assailant was quickly arrested and then transferred for investigation. Tunisian Ministry of the Interior hasn't pronounced the motivation of the aggressor yet.
