MINSK, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has expressed concern about the increase in the number of civilian casualties in the southeast of Ukraine.

Martin Sajdik, the OSCE special representative to negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Ukraine, once again called upon the parties to do everything possible to avoid civilian casualties.

Following the TCG's meeting in Minsk on Wednesday, Sajdik said that the working group on security will hold a video conference on the situation in the area of the Donetsk filtering station (DFS).

The diplomat urged the parties to take all necessary measures to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the station, the safety of its personnel and observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.

Sajdik paid attention to multiple violations of the ceasefire regime near the station. The diplomat recalled that the DFS provides water to hundreds of thousands of people on either side of the line of contact.

The next meeting of the TCG will be held in Minsk on May 30.
