ACCRA, May 17 (Xinhua) -- The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Thursday secured a 10 million U.S. dollar sponsorship deal for the elite league.
The 5-year deal was signed between the FA and Zylofon Cash, a subsidiary of Zylofon Media, an indigenous multimedia entertainment company.
The premier league has been without a headline sponsor since First Capital Plus Bank pull out of its 5-year sponsorship deal with the GFA three years ago.
The President of the GFA Kwesi Nyantakyi said his unit was eternally grateful to the Zylofon team for their decision to invest in the premier league.
He believes the massive injection of cash into the league will help both the clubs and the federation to improve on the league's quality.
The chief executive officer of Zylofon Nana Appiah Mensah the sponsorship package will contribute immensely to the development of not just the premier league, but also Ghana football.
He said this sponsorship will help ease much financial pressure on the league clubs.
As part of the sponsorship, Zylofon Group, which manages several top Ghanaian musicians, will bring some of its artistes to perform at selected match venues to boost excitement and attendance at the league centers. Enditem
