PARIS, May 17 (Xinhua) -- French shares rose on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.98 percent, or 54.38 points, to close at 5,621.92 points.
A total of 32 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French car manufacturer Renault advanced 3.54 percent, the top blue chip gainer. Technipfmc, a UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle services, gained 2.95 percent. Another French car manufacturer Peugeot rose 2.23 percent.
French multinational professional services and business consulting corporation Capgemini edged down 1.11 percent. IT services corporation Atos went down by 1.11 percent, French banking company Societe Generale lost 0.65 percent. Enditem
