RABAT, May 22 (Xinhua) -- The number of passengers travelling through Moroccan airports reached 7.12 million between January and April 2018, up 14.1 percent year on year, the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA) said Tuesday.
Morocco's biggest airport, Casablanca international airport, received 43.3 percent of international air traffic, up nearly seven percent year on year, ONDA said in a statement.
The number of passengers passing through the airports of tourist hubs of Agadir and Marrakech increased by 22.7 percent and 29 percent, respectively.
In April, over 2 million people travelled through Moroccan airports, an increase of 9.5 percent over the same month last year, according to ONDA.
Last month, the highest increase, or 28 percent, was recorded in passengers flying to South America, followed by passengers to Europe, 10.3 percent, and those to North America, 10 percent.
