KINSHASA, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Two missing Ebola patients died in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a health worker with Medecins Sans Frontieres' (MSF) said Wednesday.

The head of MSF's mission in the northwestern city of Mbandaka Henry Gray said the two dead are among three people who were confirmed to be infected with Ebola last week and disappeared from the isolation center in northwest Mbandaka a few days ago. Their bodies were later found in a local neighborhood.

In recent days, health workers have reported several patients who disappeared from isolation centers.

The health ministry has yet to comment on the information regarding the deaths of the two people. The medical charity MSF has been working with the health ministry in Equateur Province since the outbreak was declared.

Minister of Health Oly Ilunga launched a vaccination campaign on Monday in Mbandaka against the Ebola epidemic that has been raging in Equateur in northwestern DRC since May 8. The vaccine should serve to break the chain of transmission.
