TOKYO, May 24 (Xinhua) -- A number of parts likely fell from a Japan Airlines plane bound for Tokyo's Haneda airport from Kumamoto in southwestern Japan on Thursday, hitting a window of a clinic and a car in Kumamoto, local police said.

According to local police, no one was injured in the accident, which saw a total of 10 components apparently fall from the Boeing 767.

The transport ministry said the plane was redirected back to the airport in Kumamoto after reports that its left engine was having trouble and was vibrating abnormally.

Police in Kumamoto found a total of 10 metal parts belonging to the wide-body, twin jet-engine Boeing 767, which has a maximum takeoff weight of around 179,000 kg.

The police found the parts believed to have fallen from the plane, which were each around 5 centimeters in length, in and around the vicinity of the clinic in the town of Mashiki in Kumamoto.

The piece of the plane that struck the clinic's window caused the window to break, local police said, while the object that hit the car caused the vehicle to be damaged.
