BRATISLAVA, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Slovak Office for Public Health announced on Monday that the epidemics of measles has spread in the eastern part of the country.
"The incidence has increased to 20 suspected cases, of which six have been already confirmed mainly in the village of Drahnov. None of the twenty patients has experienced any complications. We have taken measures to stop the epidemics," said Dasa Rackova, a spokesperson with the office.
According to the spokesperson, the virus was carried by Slovaks, who arrived from Britain.
Medical staff were also infected after contacts with patients in the hospital Svet zdravia in Michalovce.
"Currently, we have a confirmed diagnosis for one employee of the Michalovce hospital, who is already in home treatment, and tests are still under way for the second employee," confirmed the spokesperson of Svet zdravia Jana Fedakova.
