SARAJEVO, June 5 (Xinhua)-- Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) Council of Ministers adopted here Tuesday the Strategy for the Prevention of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) for the period of 2018-2022.
At a regular session, members agreed that the BiH Foreign Ministry will, in cooperation with relevant BiH institutions and agencies, in five months submit the action plan for its implementation to BiH Council of Ministers.
Strategic activities are aimed at "preventing the procurement, production, transportation and use of WMD, military goods from authoritarian regimes, criminal and terrorist groups and individuals. In addition, Strategy against the proliferation of WMD will strengthen BiH prevention system."
BiH Council of Ministers considers that the strategy will increase the readiness for a swift and efficient response to a possible crisis caused by the use of WMD.
By the adoption of this strategy, BiH is actively contributing to the efforts of the international community to prevent the spread of WMD and to strengthen the international cooperation in this field, the BiH Council of Ministers stated.
