PARIS, June 6 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in France as a result of floods that have hit French cities in recent days has risen to two, local media reported on Wednesday.
An 82-year-old woman was found lifeless in a river in Casseneuil, southwestern France where torrential rainfall had been recorded, according to the report.
The woman was discovered at night a few meters from her home. She is believed to have accidentally fallen into the stream after losing her balance on a rugged bank, it added.
On Tuesday, a 37-year-old man was found dead in his vehicle on a road in Piseux, northern France. He is believed to have lost control of his car that overturned into water.
Torrential rainfall has caused floods which have plunged parts of northern and southern France into chaos.
