SARAJEVO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- The Federal Institute for Hydrometeorology (FHMZ BiH) issued an orange alert for northern Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Friday due to thunderstorms and intense rainfall, the official website said.
The orange alert is in effect between June 8 at 7:00 p.m. local time (1700 GMT) and 12:00 p.m. on June 9.
On Saturday, mostly cloudy weather with rain and thunderstorms is expected in major parts of BiH. More intense rainfall is expected in northern and southern BiH. The expected amount of rainfall in these parts is between 30 and 50 liters per square meter and in other parts between two and 10 liters per square meter.
The wind will be weak to moderate, blowing from the north and northwest.
In capital city Sarajevo, the weather will be moderate to mostly cloudy with rain and storms, with morning temperatures around 14 degrees Celsius, and a high of around 23 degrees Celsius.
