European Literature Night kicks off in Poland

WROCLAW, Poland, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The seventh European Literature Night took place in Wroclaw, western Poland, on Saturday, with 10 Polish outstanding personalities reading fragments of contemporary European prose in the city.

The topic of the seventh European Literature Night was "the OTHER". Michal Nogas, the curator of this event said that this year's European Literature Night showed various faces of the other and otherness.

In 10 locations of Wroclaw, 10 fragments of 10 European writers' books were heard. Polish News Agency reported that the books, which were selected by the curator, include a text from a set of essays by British novelist Zadie Smith, "Stories of strange loneliness" by Polish writer Marta Mazus, "Beyond yourself" by German novelist Marianna Salzmann, "History of violence" by Franch writer Edouard Louis.

According to the organizer, as part of the European Literature Night on Saturday, everyone who has a book or an e-book reader with them could use the public transport by free.
