PARIS, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Several people are being held hostage in Paris after an armed man stormed a building in the capital's 10th district, news channel BFM TV reported on Tuesday.
"Intervention of prefecture police in progress at Paris 10 following a hostage-taking," Paris police headquarters wrote on Tweeter.
BFMTV reported that the man claimed holding three people. He asked to have contact with Iranian ambassador.
The incident did not appear to be terrorism-related, it added.
French police have sealed off the zone where heavy security force was deployed.
