MINSK, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Martin Sajdik, special representative of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), expressed hope on Wednesday that the invigoration of the Normandy format will give a considerable impulse to the work of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Ukraine in Minsk.
Following the meeting of the TCG in Minsk, the diplomat said the participants of the Normandy Four meeting in Berlin confirmed their commitment to the Minsk agreements and peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Sajdik said the invigoration of the Normandy format at various levels will give a considerable political impulse to the work in Minsk.
Besides, the diplomat said the number of civilian victims had been decreased by 55 percent this year in comparison with the same period of last year.
The next round of meetings on the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine will take place in Minsk on June 27.
