SINGAPORE, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went down 0.97 percent or 32.69 points to close at 3324.04.
A total of 898.5 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.38 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.02 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 302 to 118.
The STI index closed down 1.05 percent or 35.78 points to close at 3356.73 last Thursday.
Singapore's stock trading was suspended last Friday due to the Hari Raya Puasa holiday.
