BEIJING, June 19 (Xinhuanet) -- The 2018 world digital asset investment summit, hosted by the Global Digital Economy Hub, was held in Beijing recently.
Themed “Fintech, blockchain support sustainable development”, the summit gathered blockchain experts and investors at home and abroad last week.
Issues discussed during the summit included whether financial technology and blockchain can change the world, how blockchain interacts with education, the application of blockchain in the field of energy, financial innovation with blockchain technology, according to the organizer.
At the summit, the Global Digital Economy Hub also launched the Beijing Digital Economy Hub and Blockchain Incubator, International University Blockchain Alliance, Energy Blockchain Leadership Committee, as well as Women Blockchain Leadership Committee.
Zhang Xiaochen, President of FinTech4Good and Organizer of the Summit, said the Beijing Digital Economy Hub will become a bridge to connect the world blockchain ecosystem with China.
He also announced that the Washington Blockchain Week will be held starting from September 8, adding that BlockchainStars Program will bring the top blockchain innovations to Beijing in the next few months.
According to 2018 China Blockchain Industry Report issued by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, blockchain technology, featured with decentralization, tamper resistance, high transparency and traceability, fits well with the demands of financial system.
By now, blockchain technology has been applied in such fields as payment and settlement, credit financing, financial transactions.
