LISBON, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Six people have been killed and two seriously injured in a head-on collision on a road in the Setubal district near Lisbon, capital of Portugal on Thursday, the police said.
The fatal accident occurred at 7 a.m. local time on IC1 road when a nine-seat mini-bus with seven workers on board heading for Sines collided head on with a light van coming from the opposite direction.
Of the seven workers working at the Sines refinery, six were killed on the scene and one was seriously injured.
The Spanish national who was driving the light van was also in seriously injured.
The two injured were transported to the Hospital of St. Bernard in Setubal for treatment.
