TIRANA, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Albania's exports of goods increased by 12.1 percent year on year in 2017, reaching the value of 273 billion ALL (around 2.5 billion U.S. dollars), Albania National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) released on Friday.
According to INSTAT, among the exports, the share of exports to European Union (EU) countries is 77 percent, with the value reaching 211 billion ALL (around 1.9 billion U.S. dollars). In 2017, exports to EU countries increased by 11.0 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, the goods' imports in Albania reached the value of 626 billion ALL (around 5.7 billion U.S. dollars), up 8.1 percent on year.
The share of imports from EU countries is 62 percent, with a value reaching 386 billion ALL (around 3.5 bullion U.S. dollars). Imports from these countries grew by 5.4 percent over 2016.
