KAZAN, Russia, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Poland coach Adam Nawalka said on Saturday that the "anger" his team felt about a dramatic loss in their opening match would propel them to a victory over Colombia in an upcoming group clash.

Poland, ranked 8th in the world, suffered a shock defeat against Senegal in their opening group match, in which the African side first benefited from an own goal of the Polish and then scored into an empty net due to a mistake of the Polish defenders.

"We lost last match, that is a tragedy. We were angry after that match and want to play at a different level in our next match," Nawalka told reporters at the pre-match press conference at Kazan Arena.

"A very good change happened within our team. An additional energy can be seen. We have a lot of stamina and we're sufficiently prepared to play very good football tomorrow," he added.

Nawalka said that he expects a very difficult match against Colombia, as the South American side are "an excellent team with an excellent coach" and the squad and the coach have been working together for a long time.

"But let me say, I strongly believe that we will be victorious after tomorrow's match," he added.

When asked how to ensure the victory, he said that his team have been well-prepared both in strategy and in psychology.

"Action will speak better than words," said the coach, adding that his team will demonstrate in the upcoming game what they have prepared.

Poland will play Colombia in their second group match on Sunday while Japan take on Senegal.
