ISLAMABAD, June 25 (Xinhua) -- A Pakistani soldier was killed and another injured when terrorists fired on them from the Afghan side on Sunday, the military said.
Army spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the soldiers were busy in fencing of the border with Afghanistan when the terrorists attacked them.
Pakistani forces are fencing bilateral borders, mostly porous, with Afghanistan to chock the routes, which the militants use for cross-border movement and violence in both countries.
"Terrorists attempted fire raid on troops busy in fencing along the Pak-Afghanistan Border west of Gurbaz in North Waziristan," the spokesman said in a statement.
He said the security forces will complete fencing undeterred, and Afghanistan's cooperation is required in mutual interests.
On Saturday, two Pakistani soldiers were killed during an operation against the militants in South Waziristan region, according to the military.
