TEHRAN, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Monday that the Islamic republic might have entered talks with the European Union over its missile program.

In the recent talks between Iran and the EU over the 2015 international nuclear deal, the issue of the Iranian missiles has likely been raised, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Baharam Qasemi made the remarks at his weekly press conference in Tehran.

Qasemi said he has no idea about the talks over the country's missile program, but it is "not unnatural" to hold talks on the topic.

U.S. President Donald Trump decided on May 8 to quit the Iranian nuclear deal and vowed to reimpose sanctions, including oil embargo, on Tehran.

Trump has called for renegotiation over the Iranian nuclear deal, as well as holding talks over Iran's ballistic missile program and its regional influence.

Iran is currently in talks with France, Britain and Germany to revive the "blocking statute," a 1996 regulation that prohibits EU companies and courts from complying with foreign sanctions laws.
