Pakistani forces recover arms as operation against militants continues

ISLAMABAD, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces have recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation in Pakistan's northwest North Waziristan district on Sunday, official reports said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations, the mouthpiece of Pakistani army, said in a statement, that the forces conducted the operation on the intelligence regarding presence of the arms in the area.

"Weapons and ammunition including rockets, Fuzes, sub machine and heavy machine guns and ammunition were recovered," the statement said.

The intelligence-based operation was a continuation of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad (rejecting discord) in the country.

Launched in February last year, the joint operation by the army and other law enforcement agencies aims at eradication of hidden sleeper cells of militants in the country.
