China launches animated video information for nationals visiting Asiad in Indonesia

JAKARTA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese government has launched an animated video to inform everything that Chinese national should pay attention during their visit to Indonesia related to Asian Games sports event slated for Aug. 18 to Sept. 2.

The video would be screened in Chinese and Indonesian airlines serving flights connecting cities in Indonesia and China and in Indonesia's Jakarta airport terminal.

Addressing the launch of the animated video, Chinese Embassy Charge D'Affaire Sun Weide said that it was the first time for the embassy to provide information tools with animated video, intended to make the information easy to be understood by its national during their Asian Games trip to Indonesia.

"We continue to encourage our people to visit Indonesia. That is why we continue to help them with useful information, several notices to remind them so as to make their trip in Indonesia more comfortable," Sun said on Friday.

The video, entitled "Wonderful Trip to Indonesia" contains several explanations about customs of Indonesian people, conveyed by animated figures of Asian Games mascots, consisted of Bhin Bhin, Atung and Ka Ka, and two Chinese giant pandas in Indonesia, Cai Tao and Hu Chun.

The video also advised Chinese visitors to pay more attention to local customs and regulations throughout their visit in Indonesia.

He expected the video would help Chinese visitors better understand Indonesian laws, regulations and customs easier, raise their awareness over their safety and risk during their Asiad trips.

Indonesia Tourism Minister Arief Yahya appreciated Chinese initiative to launch the animated video, saying that it would also significantly promote the Asian Games event in Indonesia.

"This initiative is very positive as it may serve as guidance for Chinese visitors during their visit in Indonesia. Understanding the cultural customs and regulations is important to make the trip enjoyable," the minister said, adding that it would make Chinese people know more about Indonesia and its people from various sides.

Indonesia has initially targeted to see arrivals of 3 million Chinese visitors this year. The 18th Asian Games scheduled in cities of Jakarta and Palembang was highly expected to contribute to the target.
