GHAZNI, Afghanistan, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces have killed up to 12 Taliban militants, including a local commander, Mawlavi Haroon, and wounded 13 others, following an operation in the country's eastern province of Ghazni, an official said Thursday.
The offensive was launched late on Wednesday evening in Aaband district of the province, and has left 12 fighters dead and 13 others wounded, provincial police chief Ahmad Farid Mashal told Xinhua.
The official has also confirmed the death of one security personnel and injury of two others in the offensive.
Taliban outfit has not commented on the incident.
