CAIRO, July 5 (Xinhua) -- The Arab League (AL) on Thursday condemned in the strongest terms against Israeli violent dislodging the Palestinian Bedouin communities of Khan al-Ahmar and Abu Nuwar in the West Bank, the AL said in a statement.

The statement named the act as "forcible transfer of Palestinians from these communities along with the demolition of their homes."

"The forcible eviction of Khan al-Ahmar community seeks to pave the way for expanding the illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied East Jerusalem," the statement added.

The Israeli authorities give the green light for setting up hundreds of Israeli settlements, in a flagrant violation of international law, the statement noted.

The Arab League also slammed Israeli occupation forces' serious assault against Khan al-Ahmar residents, Palestinian officials and foreign volunteers.

Scuffles broke out Wednesday between Israeli authorities and protesters over fears of demolishing a Bedouin village in a strategic part of the occupied West Bank.

The confrontation came after activists said the Israeli military had issued a warrant to the 173 residents of Khan al-Ahmar on Tuesday, authorizing soldiers to seize access roads to the village.
