WASHINGTON, July 6 (Xinhua) -- A road accident has killed a family of one adult and four children in the U.S. state of Delaware Friday, local authorities said.
The family, driving in a minivan from the neighboring state of New Jersey, was hit by a truck that veered into the minivan's lane, Delaware state police officer Richard Bratz said.
Another adult in the minivan was taken to the hospital with "non-life threatening injuries," Bratz said.
The pickup truck crossed over to the wrong side of the road and hit a car before plowing into the minivan. The passengers in the other two vehicles didn't sustain serious injuries.
The highway on which the accident happened has a meters-wide grass strip between the two-way traffic.
