BERLIN, Jul 10 (Xinhua) -- Defender Holger Badstuber has signed a new contract with Stuttgart, the Bundesliga club announced in an official statement on Tuesday.

The former German international signed a new deal until June 2021 after his old contract expired at the end of June.

"I am pleased about Holger Badstuber's contract extension. Besides his footballing qualities, he has also a lot of experience which will do our team good," Stuttgart head coach Tayfun Korkut said.

After 15 years with Bayern Munich, Badtstuber joined the Swabians in 2017 to make 28 appearances, providing two goals ever since.

"I am convinced of Stuttgart's path and the transfer they have made. That is why I opted for Stuttgart and I am very curious to see what we can achieve together over the next few years," Badstuber said.

Stuttgart completed the Bundesliga season 2017-2018 on the 7th place of the table. Enditem
