TORONTO, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Canada's main stock market continued up Tuesday due to gains in energy and consumer sectors.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's benchmark Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index rose 96.38 points,or 0.59 percent, to end the day at 16,548.72 points
The Canadian dollar slid 0.01 cent at 0.76.24 U.S. dollar.
Canadian Natural Resources rose 1.6 percent 49.04 Canadian dollars while Suncor climbed 1.4 percent to 54.74 Canadian dollars.
Alimentation Couche-Tard jumped 6.9 percent to 60.91 Canadian dollars while
Restaurant Brands International gained 1.1 percent to 80.95 Canadian dollars
The most heavily traded shares by volume were Bombardier Inc,Baytex Energy Corp and Encana Corp.
