Plane with 180 on board makes emergency landing in Ukraine

KIEV, July 11 (Xinhua) -- A passenger plane made an emergency landing at the Boryspil International Airport outside the Ukrainian capital on Wednesday, the airport authorities said.

The jet carrying 174 passengers and six crew members was en route from the Zhylyany Airport in Kiev to the city of Antalya in southwestern Turkey.

Tour company JoinUp, the flight operator, said the aircraft was forced to land after its engine was hit by a bird.
