TRIPOLI, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) of the UN-backed government on Thursday announced to lift the state of force majeure on the El-Feel oilfield in southern Libya.

The oilfield was closed in late February after its security guards left due to unpaid salaries and lack of security equipment. After the oilfield was closed, the NOC declared a state of force majeure.

Pumping at the field is expected to reach 50,000 barrels per day (bpd) within two days, and 72,000 bpd three days later, it said.

"Bringing El-Feel back online will help us swiftly return to maximum production levels," said NOC Chairman Mustafa Sanalla.
