CHICAGO, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Sun Wah BBQ, a family-run Chinese restaurant located in Uptown Chicago, popped up at the ongoing 2018 Taste of Chicago with its Roasted Duck sandwich.

The restaurant prepared 350 roasted ducks and made 9,000 sandwiches, which were sold out quickly.

In January this year, Sun Wah BBQ won the James Beard America's Classics Award, which is considered an honor as well as recognition of quality and longevity of the restaurant.

Along with this Chinese food prepared in Western-style way, Thai food and Vietnamese food also popped up at the 38th Taste of Chicago.

Of more than 70 eateries that showed up to provide food at the festival, most of them are local restaurants, including Buona, Connie's, Tuscany, Ellis, and Grill City. While Robinson No. 1 Rib, Eli Cheesecake, and Billy Goat are recurring food stalls, 24 stalls are new faces.

Foods offered at the festival include grilled ribs, fried shrimp, hot dogs, pizza, Italian sausage, cake, and ice cream, which is especially popular under the glittering sunshine and high temperatures.

Tuscany, an Italian restaurant, has brought its in-store dishes of Toasted Ravioli and Beef Sandwich to the stall.

Some 15-20 guest lined before the Grill City stall, waiting to have a taste of the stall's Grilled Prok Liempo and classic dish platters.

Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, labelled Chicago's first deep dish pizzeria that started business in the 1940's, is offering the most typical and genuine Chicago deep dish in its stall.

Launched in 1980, Taste of Chicago enters its 38th session this year, and is the largest outdoor food festival worldwide. It attracted 1.6 million visitors in 2017, the largest number since 2012 when the duration of the annual event was reduced from 10 to five days.

The 2018 Taste of Chicago will last from July 11 to 15.
