Zambia nominated for award on economic strategy

LUSAKA, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Zambia has been nominated for an award for its strategies on economic management and foreign investments, a government official said Friday.

The Africa Investments Forum and Awards, inaugurated in 2017 and based in Paris, France, has nominated Zambia for the Best State Strategy award along with other African countries.

Other candidates include Benin, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Egypt, Algeria, Ethiopia and Ghana, according to a statement issued by Yande Musonda, first secretary for press at the Zambian Embassy in France.

Official files will be submitted by the nominees to the event organizers, while a jury of 80 high-profile experts from public and private sectors will review the nomination.

Nominees will be assessed according to the criteria of investment consistency, quality and evolution over the last three years, innovation ability as well as their corporate social responsibility vision.

Winners will be announced at the next Africa Investments Forum and Awards ceremony slated for Nov. 8, 2018 in the French capital.

Offering twelve awards, the event is dedicated to business opportunities in Africa in various fields including energy, mining, infrastructure and city planning.
