JERUSALEM, July 15 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli patent for spreading a favorite fragrance by using the smartphone will be distributed in North America and the Far East, Hebrew-language newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported on Sunday.

The inventors, Yoav Ben David, former senior officer in the Israeli army, and Moshe Zach, an electronics engineer, developed a method to disperse a chosen smell automatically when the user enters his home, car or office.

The smartphone detects the entry and immediately activates the odor distribution. Similarly, it stops the dispersion when identifying the user departing from the room or vehicle.

The aromas and flavors of the product are lemon, lavender, rose, patchouli and more. The smells come from natural water based liquid, so as not to cause allergies and other health damage.

The patent also allows the dispensing of odor combined with air conditioning system in banquet halls, theaters, hotels, hospitals and trains.

The deal amount with an American marketing company is 2.5 million U.S. dollars. The patent will be distributed first in Canada, U.S. and Far East.
