TEHRAN, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Iran's supreme leader on Monday rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan for the Palestinian cause, also known as the "Deal of the Century," as a "failure."

"The Americans have named their satanic policy vis-a-vis Palestine as 'Deal of the Century,' but they should know that this deal will never be materialized," Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on his official website.

"The Palestinians will stand against this plot, and the Muslims will be their supporters," Khamenei added.

Trump's plan reportedly calls for establishing a Palestinian state with provisional borders on half of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip without Jerusalem.

"The cause of Palestine will not be forgotten, and Jerusalem will remain the capital of Palestine," the Iranian top leader said.

The day will come when Israel is driven out of the Palestinian lands, he noted.
