BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Wang Chen, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met on Tuesday with a delegation led by Miro Kovac, chairperson of the foreign policy committee of the Croatian Parliament.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, especially the establishment of a comprehensive partnership of cooperation, China and Croatia have had sound political mutual trust and have made historic breakthroughs on substantial cooperation projects.

He said the NPC stands ready to work with the Croatian Parliament, to implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries, enhance exchanges of legislature departments, forge ahead with the development strategy under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 16+1 cooperation, and promote pragmatic cooperation.

Kovac said Croatia hopes to enhance exchanges with China and make joint efforts with the Chinese side to push forward bilateral relations.
