JERUSALEM, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Israel's interior and economy ministries on Tuesday unveiled a national plan to promote the country's smart-city project.

The program, named Cityzoom, will include a community that will connect the start-ups and local authorities to solve problems in the urban space.

Under the program, a database of municipal problems and needs will be established, which will be synchronized with similar databases in major foreign cities such as Chicago, New York, London and Barcelona, as well as academic bodies.

The cost of the program is 2.5 million new shekels (about 688,000 U.S. dollars).

The program will focus on urban management with the help of big data systems, information security, WiFi infrastructure, emergency monitoring systems, transportation and smart parking, resident services, and solutions for the elderly.
