Thai man missing after jet ski boat capsizes off Phuket

BANGKOK, July 17 (Xinhua) -- A Thai man was reported missing after his jet ski boat capsized in the sea off Thailand's southern resort island of Phuket on Tuesday.

The jet skier, identified as Komet Deebukdam, was reported to have gone missing after his craft capsized at about 3:00 p.m. local time due to strong winds and high tides near Koh Nakha Noi island off Phuket, according to the local government.

The man was said to have left Koh Yao island off Phang-nga without a life jacket and he could not swim.

Rescue teams searched for the missing man but have not found him yet.

The search and rescue mission was temporarily called off at about 7:30 p.m. local time and will resume on Wednesday morning.
