Indian PM to visit Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa

NEW DELHI, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a five-day tour of Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa from July 23, the External Affairs Ministry said Friday.

Modi's first stop will be Rwanda, where he will stay for two days, top ministry official T.S. Tirumurti told the media. "India is expected to sign a defence cooperation agreement during the visit," the official added.

From Rwanda, Modi will go to Uganda on July 24-25. "In Uganda, the Indian Prime Minister will hold delegation-level talks with the country's top leadership and also address the Parliament," Tirumurti said.

Modi will then go to South Africa to attend the BRICS Summit, also attended by leaders of China, Brazil, Russia and South Africa, according to the ministry.
