CHICAGO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in the tourist boat capsize in Missouri on Thursday night has risen to 11, according to the local sheriff.
Earlier reports said the boat capsized in a lake, killing eight with several people missing.
So far, 11 people have been confirmed dead, including children, Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader told the local media.
Rader added that seven critically injured passengers have been hospitalized while five remain missing. A diving team has arrived at the scene for rescue work.
The Ride the Ducks tourist boat carrying more than 30 people including children sank in Table Rock Lake near Branson, Missouri, as high winds hit the area.
