GAZA, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Israeli war jets struck on Friday evening military facilities belonging to Hamas movement in eastern Gaza City and southern Gaza Strip, wounding at least three civilians, medics and local radio stations reported.

They said that three air-to-ground missiles struck a Hamas military facility east of Zaytoon neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, where three huge explosions were heard all over the city.

The Israeli war jets also struck another military facility west of the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis; no injuries reported. Palestinian observers expected that the Israeli army will intensify its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Friday night.

Meanwhile medics said that three Palestinian civilians living in Zaytoon neighborhood were lightly injured in the Israeli airstrike on Hamas military facility and were evacuated to a nearby hospital.

The Israeli airstrikes were an immediate Israeli army response to opening fire at an Israeli army force stationed on the border between eastern Rafah town in southern Gaza Strip and Israel, where one Israeli soldier was injured, according to Israeli media reports.

Initial media reports said that the Israeli army has decided to wage an intensive military air offensive on Hamas in the Gaza Strip in response to opening fire at the Israeli army forces stationed on the border with Israel.

Earlier Friday, four Palestinians were killed, including three Hamas militants, and 210 protesters wounded the mounting tension between the Israeli army and Islamic Hamas movement, which rules the Gaza Strip, medics and local media reported.
