OTTAWA, July 22 (Xinhua) -- At least nine people were wounded by gunfire in a busy Toronto neighborhood and the shooter was confirmed dead, according to the CTV Television Network.
The victims, including a young girl, were taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of the victims' injuries was not immediately known.
Police, paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene in the area of Danforth and Logan avenues, in Toronto's east end. The area has many restaurants, cafes and shops and is busy with diners and pedestrians on summer nights.
One man told the CTV that he saw the shooter dressed in black and wearing a hat.
