Indian FM embarks on 4-day tour of Central Asia

NEW DELHI, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Thursday left for a four-day tour of three Central Asian countries -- Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

According to the External Affairs Ministry, Swaraj will be in Kazakhstan on Aug. 2-3, in Kyrgyzstan on Aug. 3-4 and in Uzbekistan on Aug. 4-5.

Swaraj's first stop will be Kazakhstan Astana, where she will hold discussions with her Kazakh counterpart Kairat Abdrakhmanov and call on the country's top leadership, sources said.

From Kazakhstan, the Indian minister will go to Kyrgyzstan, where she would hold talks with the country's Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev and meet the top leadership too, sources said.

In the last leg of her tour, Swaraj will go to Tashkent. "In that country also, the Indian minister will call on the leadership and meet its foreign minister," sources said.

In the Central Asian countries, the minister will also interact with the Indian community.
