China commerce chamber in Chicago to hold annual gala in September

CHICAGO, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The China General Chamber of Commerce - Chicago (CGCC) will hold its 2018 annual gala here in September to enhance relations between the U.S. Midwest and China, according to CGCC Chicago's invitation letter to media on Friday.

The gala, to be held on September 19 at Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park, includes business forum, business showcase and B2B matchmaking event, house representatives and CEOs roundtable meeting and an awards ceremony.

The business forum will include three main breakout sessions with over 15 business topics. The three separate sessions are themed 'Invest in the Midwest nine states', 'Post-acquistion corporate management' and 'Business opportunities in U.S./China'.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and representatives from nine states in U.S. Midwest and Ohio confirmed their attendance of gala. Besides, over 400 guests including government officials, company CEOs, representatives from relevant organizations from U.S. and China will also attend the gala.

CGCC Chicago is a nonprofit member-based organization in the U.S. representing Chinese companies in the nine Midwest states including Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

These Chinese companies have invested 20.3 billion U.S. dollars in the nine states from 2000 to 2017, creating at least 45,000 local jobs.
