WEIFANG, China, Aug. 4(Xinhua) -- Argentina's Boca Juniors thrashed Shandong Luneng 3-0 here on Saturday to win the championship title of the 12th Luneng Weifang Cup International Youth Football Tournament.
The Argentine team reached the final with four wins including a 1-0 victory over Shandong Luneng during the group stage.
Boca Juniors was the better side of the first half, but they missed serveral scoring chances before the 43rd minute, when Agustin opend the scoring for Boca.
Boca strengthened attack in the second half. Camilo and Mateo scored at the 59th and 61st minutes respectively. Boca secured the victory largely on the backs of their creative offence.
Twelve youth teams (from Russia, Argentina, Australia, Germany, Spain, China, Brazil, along with China's national youth team) competed in the just-concluded Weifang Cup International Football Tournament which ran from July 29-August 4.
