BERLIN, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Dina Asher-Smith secured the gold medal in the women's 200m final with 21.89 seconds at the first edition of the multi-sport European Championships in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
The 22-year-old sprinter wrapped up her second gold medal, after the 100m, following a dominat performance from the start to the finish line.
Netherland's Dafne Schippers sealed the silver medal in 22.14 seconds whereas compatriot Jamile Samuel clocked 22.37 seconds to win the bronze medal.
The first edition of the European Championships is a multi-sport event and feature seven sports including aquatics events, rowing, gymnastics, cycling, triathlon and golf in Glasgow and athletics in Berlin.
The competition will be held from 2-12 August and will have more than 4,500 athletes competing for 187 gold medals.
