SINGAPORE, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went down 1.2 percent or 39.44 points to close at 3245.34.
A total of 2.31 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.20 billion Singapore dollars (about 868.97 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 276 to 164.
The STI index closed down 1.26 percent or 41.96 points to close at 3284.78 last Friday.
