KABUL, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- A group of armed militants occupied a building in the 5th Police District of Kabul and attacked a security training center, on Thursday, police said.

According to a police officer, who declined to be named, a group of armed insurgents occupied a building which is under construction in the 5th Police District on Thursday morning and begun targeting a training center of the National Directorate for Security (NDS) or the country's intelligence agency.

Officials have yet to make comments. However, the gun battle is still continuing.

This is the second shocking attack in Kabul over the past two days.

In the previous attack on Wednesday, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a school training center in the 18 Police District, killing 34 students and injuring 56 others. The hardliner Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for it.
