DUBAI, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Countries need growth, development and constant change, said the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Thursday.

He tweeted on his twitter account that "governments can be affected by aging if they do not renew their youth with innovation."

The UAE head of government added "if one does not learn how to keep up with time, time teaches him the harsh way that he is backward and backward."

Earlier in August, he criticized the Arab countries "waste time" on political discourses instead of letting achievements speak for themselves.

The UAE government aims to transform the Gulf state from a major oil supporter to the most competitive economy in the world, according to the UAE Centennial Plan 2071 which was launched in March 2017.
