SINGAPORE, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) sinking 0.08 percent, or 2.49 points, to close at 3,209.44.
A total of 991.8 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 985.4 million Singapore dollars (about 719.27 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 193 to 185.
The STI index closed down 0.69 percent, or 22.19 points, to close at 3,211.93 Thursday. Enditem
