MOSCOW, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin made a private visit to the Austrian city of Graz Saturday on his way to Berlin for talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Putin as a guest attended the wedding of Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, and he gave the newlyweds presents and danced with the bride, the Kremlin said in a statement.
The Russian leader also had a brief conversation with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz at the celebration, it said.
In June, Putin visited Vienna and met Kurz and Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen. The two countries agreed to extend their gas supply contract from 2028 till 2040.
Putin said that by signing the contract, bilateral cooperation is further secured.
